August 15th always brings a specific kind of energy. Beyond the flags and the anthems, it’s a quiet reminder of what it takes to build something that lasts. We talk a lot about independence as a historical event, but true freedom is also an everyday practice. In a world that constantly demands our attention and tells us how to think, the freedom to step away from the noise is a privilege. The freedom to hold onto our roots, to write our own stories unedited, and to simply exist without being a product of an algorithm. Today, I’m honoring the quiet resilience that built our country, and the everyday freedoms we sometimes take for granted.

There is a specific feeling attached to the morning of August 15th. It’s the memory of waking up early for school flag hoistings, the crisp white uniforms, the sound of patriotic songs playing from loudspeakers down the street, and the simple joy of pinning a small paper flag to your shirt. As we grow older, the world gets more complicated. We start seeing the flaws in the system, the struggles of daily life, and the heavy realities of adulthood. But for a few moments every Independence Day, that childhood purity comes back. A reminder that despite everything, there is a collective heartbeat we all share. A hope that tomorrow can be better than today. Wishing everyone a meaningful Independence Day. May we never lose that hope.
